How does a Christian view their earthly home and life- We value the inward not outward, the unseen above the seen, the eternal above the temporal. We know when our earthly home -body- dies we have an eternal home, not made with hands.

Two distinct worldviews quickly emerge in Adam's family. It reminds of two approaches to life we see today. Cain builds a city, believes in himself and humanity, and refuses to face up to his awful sin and its rightful punishment. Whereas Seth, the appointed substitute for Abel, calls on the Lord's name.

In the relationship between the King and the Shulamite, a great danger lurks. The closeness of the courting couple maybe reduce as the foxes and little foxes threaten to damage the vine. For every believer we also need to watch for various small and large problems that can be overlooked and stop them quickly.

While men and women are described in the bible as often being lovers of themselves, at the same time they can despise even their own soul. However, those who are corrected and reproved and start to consider their never dying souls will be given a new heart.

Joshua was given repeated encouragement by the Lord as he took on the huge task of following in Moses' footsteps and leading God's people. This was not random. As he obeyed the Lord, trusted His Word and promises, followed the examples given to him, so the cord of courage was strengthened.

God is a covenant making and keeping God. His crowning covenant is that of Redemption. What assurance, confidence and blessing it brings, and when rightly understood it will make us want to love, obey and serve Him more and more.

The healing of the blind man is a clear analogy of salvation. --As Christ passed by, he saw a man which was blind from birth-. He i- found - felt for him ii- told him to wash iii- gave him sight if he was willing to exercise faith. We too are blind from birth and need spiritual sight. We must go and wash.

How must we approach God- Are we guided by choice and taste or timeless principles- Cain and Abel came to God, in the same place, both bringing an offering. But Abel's worship was accepted, Cain's not. What are the unchanging principles of rightly drawing near and worshiping our God-

When we cast our bread upon the water we do not know when and where the gain will come. Solomon however teaches we can be confident in the good seed. The work of sowing Gospel seed is similar. We can be sure that it will yield its fruit in God's time.

God's goodness in the harvest is a cause for thanksgiving. This is only one demonstration of God's essence which is only goodness to all humanity. His supreme demonstration is the gift of His own Son, providing to all who ask His goodness.
