We just wanted to share briefly about this weeks podcast. You’ll quickly notice that it’s a bit different from the weekly sermons we’ve been posting.
As a community, we’re moving into what we’re calling a summer of rest. Taking time to look back at where we’ve been these last two years, taking inventory of where we are, truly, right now, and beginning to dream about where God is calling us going forward. In order to do that, it’s critical for us to create rhythms of slowing down, reflecting and contemplating, and truly finding the deeper meaning of sustained, lasting rest for our souls.
One of the ways we’re doing that is by occasionally structuring our worship services to create space for breath, slowly engaging with the sacred texts and meditating on the presence of God with us, here and now.
This past Sunday we did just that. We wanted to provide a glimpse into what that sounds like. We hope you’ll be able to go back to these practices from last week and use them in your own personal time of abiding in the presence of God. And, if you weren’t able to join us, we hope all the same that you’ll have a small window into the way we’re creating these rhythms as a community, even in our Sunday worship together. That being said, we hope you enjoy what we’ve put together for this episode. God bless all of you, and may God’s kindness and love find you exactly where you are.
