PS5 and Playstation boss Jim Ryan must be feeling good after the whole PS5 preorder debacle because he’s taking shots at the competition. Specifically, the Xbox Series S. The console wars have truly arrived in a more official capacity than usual because Sony and Microsoft usually pretend each other don’t exist while doing the equivalent of subtweeting through press releases and marketing. Of course, early this week Microsoft came out and said that the Xbox Series S will be running last-gen versions of cross-gen games but as a result of having less power it’s also much cheaper. The Series S at $300 is competitively priced to appeal to the budget gamer and parents across the world. However, to Jim’s credit the cheaper PS5 Digital Edition is a full fledged next-gen console… but his claims that, lower priced or reduced spec’s console don’t traditionally do well, have left a lot of fans and critics scratching their heads. Let’s see if we can find out if we can parse out what the ‘ol Playstation boss was trying to say, today on Inside Gaming Daily!
