Today’s reading takes us to Psalm 16, one of David’s miktam psalms—a psalm meant to be remembered, treasured, and inscribed deeply into the heart. It is personal, honest, and full of trust, as David reminds us that those who belong to the Lord find their refuge, counsel, portion, and hope in Him alone.
But Psalm 16 does more than speak to David’s circumstances; it points us forward to resurrection. David declares that God will not abandon His Holy One to the grave, and in that promise we see the greater Son of David—Jesus Christ—whose resurrection gives us living hope. So today, read slowly, seek your refuge in the Lord, and take a few extra minutes to pray. When we work, we work; but when we pray, God works.
