Psalm 37: Focus On God Over Evil

1) On Sunday, Josh discussed how he feels that Psalm 37's relevance in our lives today is evidence of the truth we read about in Hebrews 4:12, which tells us that "the word of God is alive and powerful." Has there ever been a scripture or book of the Bible that felt so alive that it powerfully impacted your life?

2) Psalm 37 begins with these words: Don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. Do you find yourself to be someone who worries about wickedness and evil in the world? If so, what impact is that having on your life?

3) Read Philippians 4:6-9. What correlation is there between worrying, prayer, and peace?

4) Psalm 37:2 tells us that, like "grass" and "spring flowers", evil in the world will wither away. How can knowing evil won't last impact you today?

5) The Psalmist expresses that focusing less on evil and more on our relationship with God will lead us to confront evil in this world; stating in verse 6, “…the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.” What manifestation of evil do you think God is leading you to confront in our world?
