It’s not even advent yet…what am I doing? Christ did not come without a preparation. God had been preparing his people for generations, yet now this preparation has taken the form of a man, St John the Baptist.

We(I) start the season of lent and advent with high hopes. Maybe this devotional will be the one that helps me pray better and feel more connected to God. Then when get half way through, complacency sets in, and we fizzle out, reaching Christmas without feeling prepared. I don’t want that this year. So we will be reading and meditating from traditional catholic sources to help us on our journey to Bethlehem.
