God should be the source of our direction and life, and dads who are directed by God recognize three duties.

1) Dads should live understanding their need for God. (v. 1-2)

2) Dads should recognize their children as gifts from God. (v.3)

3) Dads should steward the direction of their children. (v. 4-5)
