Today, we take a look at the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s new Transdisciplinary Center for Research in Psychoactive Substances—how the center came to be, what they research, and what it might mean for the future of psychedelics in Wisconsin and the United States.
Paul R. Hutson is director of the Transdisciplinary Center for Research in Psychoactive Substances at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Based in the UW–Madison School of Pharmacy, the center serves as a resource to investigators and scholars on campus and in the state of Wisconsin who are engaged in research on the therapeutic, cultural, and historical applications of drugs such as psilocybin, MDMA, and cannabis.
John D. Dunne is Distinguished Professor of Contemplative Humanities and chair of the Department of Asian Languages and Culture at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Nicholas Cozzi is an educator and scientist at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. We spoke with Dr. Cozzi on the show in 2015 when the program was in its early stages.
