or we are allowed to eliminate their once magnified experiences and stories or does it still matter if they still have anything to say now? Old parents and elderlies in a modern day train probably won't know how to call a stop at junction but they still remember how much it hurts to walk should incase the train breaks down.

Is there still a need to learn from them or we are just designed now to continue with the modern knowledge that we may have fearfully acquired.
