Zechariah 13:7 states:
"Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is close to me."
God the Father struck his own Shepherd, Yeshua the Messiah, to provide Israel with an atonement for sin. By faith in him, his atoning sacrifice can both forgive and cleanse us, while saving us from the penalty and power of sin.
