In this episode of real talk and conversation with today’s candidate, I welcome on my special guest Karen Scott Greene Candidate for Gwinnett County Superior Court Judge. Karen grew up. In Broward County, Florida in a small close-knit community of Carver Ranches. Growing up in Carver Ranches taught her about the full aspect of it taking a village to raise the kids of the community and to help out one another. Her parents played a big part in that village with her Mom owning a salon and her father, who started off as a volunteer fireman, becoming the first African American Captain in the county. It was instilled in Karen the importance of hard work, family values, and a strong sense of community.

In this episode of Real Talk and Conversation with Today’s Candidate I welcome on my special guest Nakita Heming Candidate for Agriculture Commissioner in the great state of Georgia. Nakita is a Georgia native born in Savannah, GA, and raised in a single-parent home of modest means in Decatur, GA. Her mother taught her and her siblings the importance of community, leadership, and never giving up, overcoming many adversities to get to where she is today a successful Queen Mother.

​Currently, Nakita maintains a real estate practice and runs a small cut-flower farm with her husband Jonathan and their four kids. Nakita’s decision to run for public office was born out of her frustrations as a farmer and citizen of Georgia. In fighting for her own property rights, she discovered the laws of our state don't do enough to protect the rights of farmers and individual property owners. Nakita believes the people of Georgia deserve better. Protecting our farmland and making stronger investments in agriculture is essential to growing Georgia's economy and creating a more prosperous future for all of Georgia.

In this episode of “Real Talk and Conversation with Today’s Candidate” I welcome on my guest GA Secretary of State Candidate Manswell Peterson. Manswell is a native of Albany, Georgia, and a product of the Dougherty County School System. He attended Albany State University and Troy University obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. During this time at Albany State University, he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Spring 2001. Manswell served in the United States Navy during the first war in Desert Storm and is now a disabled Veteran. He also formerly served as a Senior Corporal and Supervisor for the Albany Police Department. Following his time in military and law enforcement careers, he was a Professor at Darton State College in Albany teaching courses in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. He has authored over 20 books and writes movies and television shows.

Manswell currently lives in Albany with his wife and youngest son. His wife, LaTonya, is a professor teaching online Criminal Justice courses at American Intercontinental University. She is also a community volunteer, and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Manswell’s oldest son is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a degree in Chemistry.

As a member of Greater 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church in Albany, and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Manswell is dedicated to the service of others. He truly believes he can make the changes Georgians need.
