In this discussion about Stone Mountain Park and the push to remove confederacy branding from the park itself. For those of you who aren’t from the great state of Georgia, Stone Mountain is a mountain located near the city of Stone Mountain, Georgia. It’s a family park with family attractions, which have been most recently added over the past 10 years, and a historical landmark that depicts three Confederate leaders, Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson. Joining Tamika, and me, on this discussion is Brian Morris a man that has done his research who is working alongside “The Stone Mountain Action Coalition” in getting streets renamed in the park that’s named after these confederate leaders and having the confederate flagged removed before we the people go after those carvings and put up some true winners.
In this episode of “On the Couch” I welcome back Emily Leslie to talk about being mindful in the moment. There is a difference between being present in the moment and mindfulness. Mindfulness is a state of focused awareness of the present, acknowledgment of thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment. Mindfulness is the practice of being mindful.

In this episode, I welcome my special guest and cousin a Manga artist and writer Chris Burns. Chris has been drawing since the age of 16 which led him to attain a BS in Digital Design. He is a successful freelance designer in creating company logos, animation trailers, photography, and what I most proud of for him is he’s a published manga author of “Chikara Power of God”. I wanted to bring him on to talk about a field that’s not new, but we need more diversity in and that’s anime design and comic book artists. If you don’t know I’m a huge anime nerd and manga reader, haven’t read anything lately because of time but the last one I finished was "Tower of God if" you have not read it PLEASE check that out. I welcome Chris on the show to talk about what got him into art and anime and hopefully, towards the end it will inspire some of you all to pick it up as well.
In this episode, Tamika and I are going to touch on what it means in our opinion to be radicalized. We've always seen this word thrown around typically in meaning something terrible but you can be radical in the things that you do to bring about good change such as the civil rights movement. We're going to look at the actual meaning of radicalization and discuss where that stands with what took place on Jan 6th.
Let’s talk tech, each year we’re excited to watch out for all the new tech being revealed from some of our favorite tech companies such as Apple, Google, Xiaomi, LG, Sony, etc. We get a warm tingle thinking about how they’re going to innovate and we look for new startups to see how they plan on changing the game with new applications such as “Forest” which it’s sole purpose is to encourage people to step away from their phone by planting seeds and the only way your tree will grow is if you leave the app open but the moment you start picking your phone up more your tree and/or trees began withering away. I’m a big proponent of that because I believe we all should disconnect sometimes and get out into nature. Like we’ve seen in the past when it comes to true innovation there has to be a need solved and with the pandemic, there has been a great demand on how we move differently in the future. In this episode, I invite a special guest from out of Germany, my homie from the gaming community Konze, someone whose background is in computer engineering and embedded systems. Konze is a lecturer of computer architecture for the Bosch Learning Company, a trained mechatronics technician, worked as a self-employed software developer, a professional ski instructor, a Twitch streamer, and YouTuber. I welcome him on to talk about what he’s excited to see in tech in 2021.
In this session of “On the Couch” I welcome my special guest and homie Ms. Emily Leslie to talk “Being Bold and Authentic”. Now you may remember I had Emily on for my segment “Real Talk and Conversation with Today’s Candidates” back in Sept of 2020 for her run for House District 106 in the great state of GA, if you don’t please go back and check out that episode where we get into the down and dirty of it. I’m glad to have her back for you all to see a side of her that some of you might not know about if you don’t follow her. Outside of her passion for politics she shares my passion for addressing mental health, her backgrounds consist of Health and Wellness coaching, mental health and addiction, and a support specialist as well as a mental health first responder.
In this episode, Tamika and I are introducing a series about those interested in running for office and what qualifies them to do so. Not because you have a certain background or a huge following but what’s inspiring you to run and do you possess those leadership abilities to actually push forward the agenda that you’re wanting to campaign on. In today’s discussion we’re going to start off with a topic we’ve partially talked about before and that’s leadership it’s one of the most underline things everyone should have whether you’re running for office or leading a group of individuals in a business or corporate environment. Another part of the conversation is what makes you believe you are qualified? Not because you can win a race but WHY are you qualified to be in this position?
In today’s episode, Tamika and I are going to talk rights as a consumer to speak more on terms of service. TOS has been put in the spotlight again due to major tech companies kicking 45 off of their platforms and the community is calling foul, even some on the left. The reasoning is that if tech companies silenced 45 and his first amendment rights then eventually it will be done to everyone else soon. What is TOS (Terms of Service)? Basically, terms of service are legal agreements between a service provider and a person who wants to use that service they’re offering. The person, and/or end-user, must agree to abide by the terms of service in order to use the offered service. Terms of service can also be merely a disclaimer, especially regarding the use of websites. Thank you for tuning in!
