In this episode, we talk with Dr. Sophia Hussen about community-engaged research, working with young Black gay and bisexual men and other men who have sex with men on HIV care outcomes and general well-being, and how working as a doctor in the clinic informs her public health perspectives and ability to do engaged research. Dr. Hussen is an associate professor in the Hubert Department of Global Health in the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University. She also has a secondary faculty appointment in the Division of Infectious Diseases, in the Department of Medicine of the School of Medicine; and she is a faculty physician at Grady Memorial Hospital and the Grady Infectious Disease Program. She earned an AB at Harvard University, an MPH from the University of Michigan, and an MD from the University of Pennsylvania.
