Hello Hockey Fans!
In Episode 4 of Puck Buddies Hockey Podcast we chat with Vancouver Canucks alumnus Dennis Kearns, the Quinn Hughes of the 1970s.
The veteran of 677 NHL games finished his career with 321pts, a team record for a Canucks defender at the time. His record has since been tied by Jyrki Lumme and it has been surpassed by only Matthias Ohlund (325pts) & Alexander Elder (389pts & counting). In 1976-77 Mr. Kearns scored 60pts to set a single season team record for points by a defenseman, which stood until the 1986-87 season when it was broken by Doug Lidster. Perhaps most impressively, his 55 assists during the 1976-77 season is a total that has been surpassed by only six other Canucks in franchise history. Andre Boudrias, Thomas Gradin, Cliff Ronning, Markus Naslund and Daniel & Henrik Sedin. Illustrious company for the diminutive defensman.

In Episode 3 of Puck Buddies Hockey Podcast Tucker joins us from a beach in Hawaii to discuss the week, Jan. 12-18th, for the Habs & Canucks. We recap how the Vancouver Canucks & Montreal Canadiens faired during the week. Despite similar results one of us is in a good mood about our team and the other isn't. Will the Canucks make the playoffs? And where do we think they'll finish? Will the Habs be buyers or sellers at the deadline? Is Tucker's next jersey purchase going to be Suzuki or Kovalchuk?
In Episode 2 we pour ourselves some drinks and chat with NHL Alumni and former AHL single-game penalty minute record holder Wally Weir. Veteran of 320 games in the NHL, 150 in the WHA and one memorable season in the NAHL. That's right! The same league as the Johnstown Jets, aka the Johnstown Chiefs of the 1977 movie Slapshot.
Listen as Wally shares stories about a couple of his friends, Gilles "Bad News" Bilodeau and Chris "Knuckles" Nilan, pissing off Mike Keenan, while he was with the Rochester Americans & more from his days with the Quebec Nordiques, Hartford Whalers and Pittsburgh Penguins.

In our very first episode we sit down with BC boy, and local Vancouver legend, Darcy Rota. Veteran of 794 NHL games, good golfer & a great guy. We discuss getting a phone call from "Mr. Hockey" Gordie Howe, playing for an Original 6 franchise, a trade that would bring him home & much more.
