Getting started typically appears to be the hardest part of any process. There are so many variables to consider which can easily overwhelm anyone. Rodney helps me take a look at where he drew inspiration and how he got started on his filmmaking journey. If you have any inclination on wanting to start filming, this podcast is for you!

Rodney has been a great deal of inspiration for me in regards to growing confidence and pursuing my passion. We have the honor this week of having my good friend Donovan on the podcast! Donovan helped expand my taste in many areas from books, comics, movies, and more. There are so many hidden gems that don't get the spotlight that they deserve but luckily for me, they haven't gone unnoticed by Dungeon Daddy Donovan.

We're Back Baby!

        It’s been a minute since the train initially left the station but we are chugging along once more! In this episode, Tobin and I catch up on what we’ve been up to since the hiatus. Recollect our experience with OverWatch, dive into our pandemic distractions, and catch up since the last episode. 

        Moving forward, we’ll be releasing an episode every week. Super excited to be bringing on more guests! There is going to be a very wide variety of guests and topics that will be covered. If you don’t like the topic, oh well haha there will be a new episode out next week.         I think Denver is home to so many creative and beautiful people that the world is waiting to see. A selfish part of me wants to hold that back and keep it to myself. That wouldn’t be fair to hide these gems from everybody who could use the joy in these tumultuous times.         Thank you all for tuning in and listening to the ridiculousness that we have on the show. Episode 4: Son Of The Black Sword

Why should you read this? Because two dudes on the internet say it’s a pretty solid book…. yeah, I’d need more than just that too. Luckily for you, reviews across the board have been positive for this series from many reviewers.  Having never read any of Larry Correia’s Monster Hunter Novels, I came in with a blank slate. The only piece of information I had was the main protagonist (Ashok) was similar to the hero Geralt from the Witcher series. Having heard that, I was sold but was surprised to like other characters more than Ashok. Who could it be? Well, listen in and find out! Tobin and I dive into this podcast to explore the interesting points that came to our minds. Is Physical or Digital Media Better?

If Microsoft spent more time on this question during the release of the Xbox One then perhaps they wouldn’t have been bodied by Sony during the reveal of the PS4 at E3. As technology is ever-changing, timing is crucial when making the jump into the new technological wave. Unfortunately for Microsoft, they learned that the majority of their user base wasn’t ready. There were plenty of other issues at the conference but I felt one of the big nails in the coffin was how games were going to be distributed. Games were going to make the jump to mostly online with no ability to share similar to how Steam distributes now. Well, that didn’t sit well and left a very bad taste in many gamer’s mouths. Sony was smart and released an effective jab at Microsoft for how to share games shown below. 

 Hilarious!! Will the past repeat itself again during the next console release? We’ve made some serious leaps and bounds since 2013 with streaming media becoming the norm with big platforms such as Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, etc. Cable viewership has been in decline as people no longer have to pay a large price for only a few channels they care about. Could the same happen to the gaming market? Microsoft has released a new subscription model (Game Pass) that allows you to play all the games in their library for a monthly cost. If you only play a few games a year that still saves you a lot of money from having to pay full price. On top of that, you get a discount if you do decide to purchase the game. This still doesn’t help with the sharing of games but it does make playing games cheaper overall which is a huge win.   Growing up I didn’t have a lot of money to spend on games so this would’ve been a no brainer back then as honestly, it’s a no brainer for me now as I like many games in their line up. Whatever games weren’t in the library I’d most likely be able to borrow from a friend or watch them play (aka twitch in real life).  What do you all think about when it comes to digital or physical media? DLC and Micro-transactions are a big contributor to the gaming industry and they're going to be around for the foreseeable future whether we like it or not. Although can you really blame the industry when the prices have stayed the same for about a decade? At the end of the day, the gaming industry is like any other business and the capitalist beast must be feed in order to be relevant and evolve.
