Joining us this week is esteemed guest, Slawomir Jack Giletycz, PhD from the Department of the Earth Sciences, National Central University where his research focus was in tectonic geomorphology, fluvial processes and structural geology.  Dr. Giletycz is a naturalist who has a love for the rocks and nature. Joining us this week is Scott Pursner, MS. He completed his Master’s in Wildlife Conservation at National Pingtung University of Science and Technology and undergraduate in International Studies at Adelphi University. In this episode we learn more of how Scott’s Huayu Scholarship turnt into a 10 year experience. Scott’s master’s research focused in the studies pangolins and working with aboriginal villages on how they would do conservation work. Furthermore, Scott has been the past editor for Want China Times and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of China (Taiwan).

Our guest this week is Ricardo Pontaza, MSc. Ricardo is a Guatemalan who has a passion for learning from a young age; studying advanced mathematics and Chinese from his childhood. He has been in Taiwan for about 10 years with dual degrees and years of experience in the computer science and electrical engineering field. He has attained two masters from National Taiwan University in the fields of Computer Science and Information Engineering as well as Mathematics and is currently pursuing two PhD Degrees in Computer Science and Information Engineering and Electrical Engineering.  His research focuses ranges in the field of computer theory and algorithms. Ricardo dives deep into the logics and concepts of computer theory and cryptography and how all this ties into his dual degrees.

Our guest this week is Honduran national, Moises Osorto, MSE, an alumni from National Taiwan University’s department of Construction Engineering and Management. Moises received his bachelor’s in architecture in Honduras and came to Taiwan under the MOFA scholarship to study his master’s where his research focused in using visual reality applied to architecture. Moises’ most recent publications is based on “A Possible Adaptation of Architecture for Peace in Honduras” and is currently an Architectural Design intern at JJpan Architects and Planners in Taipei.
