We asked Matt, “How do you find these stories?”

"Some are from my friends in Iraq or Afghanistan. And, once in awhile, a Commander or soldier or even parents of soldiers will send a valor award citation or report to me. But, in most cases, Someone You Should Know candidates are submitted by Blackfive.net readers who spot the stories in thier small town papers, television and radio stations or from the military journalists who submit them to the MSM but don’t get covered. These stories tend to be overlooked by larger sources like the New York Times or CNN because, I believe, that they don’t fit the template that the war is lost, President Bush is evil, and that America is wrong."

On the 3rd anniversary of the start of the Iraq War, we welcomed back independent citizen journalist Michael Yon.

As most of you know by now, Michael is a former Green Beret who embedded himself on the front lines with the troops for most of 2005. His reporting from the front has been compared to the great Ernie Pyle.

We focused this discussion on a recent LA Times article, mentioned last week by President Bush, that gave away how we are dealing with the threat of improvised explosive devices. Thanks to the LA Times, the terrorists now have the information they need to combat our new technology designed to keep our troops safe.

It’s one thing to not support the war, it is another entirely to give the enemy the means to more easily kill our soldiers.

This is an extended interview with Howie Carr on his new book, The Brothers Bulger: How they terrorized and corrupted Boston for a quarter century.

Among the interesting tidbits, the deal 60 Minutes cut with the publishers of Kevin Weeks book. They claim to not pay their sources, but now we know different. Also of interest was some information about former Mass. governor Bill Weld and his relationship with Billy Bulger and how that may cost him in his campaign for governor this year in New York.

On 2/19, Kevin and Gregg discussed the UAE port deal and the Cheney shooting incident. We had a full board of calls and got to use a generous amount of sound clips, both serious and funny, on the port deal and the Cheney shooting. These are great talk radio topics, that's for sure.
