PUNKS ON A PODCAST

Back in the summer, Fayth Starr had a multi-way Skype call with Illogical Notion. These guys have one of the fullest, most well rounded sounds we have ever heard, and it was such a pleasure getting to know them as musicians and people. They discussed their latest singles put out with us, how the music scene is in the UK, and their plans for themselves following COVID.

*DISCLAIMER: Since the recording of this episode some of the band members have parted ways, however the band is still going strong so check them out!

BOO👻 GUESS WHOS BACK?!! Did you miss us ?!

After a 6 month hiatus, we have returned! It’s been such a crazy year, and we’re not going to lie, being on social media during this time has taken a toll on our mental health. We feel like it’s super important to be real with that, because we know we’re not alone and that a lot of you have felt the same way. We took some time to take care of ourselves and now we’re back ready to continue #season3 of POAP!

We recorded episode 12 back in May, with an incredible band called Being Still.

Sean and Joey have known each other for over a decade, and they’ve been playing music together ever since. Being Still has changed and evolved over the years, and these two super talented guys explain how they got to where they are today.

Don’t miss this hilarious and entertaining episode!

@beingstillband thank you for your patience through this tough time!

Thank you to everyone who’s sticking by us and supports us, we wouldn’t be back here without you!!!!🤘🏼

HAPPY PRIDE MONTH, FRIENDS!

We hope everyone is staying as safe and as sane as possible in this crazy world we live in. We’ve decided to release one more episode this month, before we take a pause on the podcast for a few weeks. We want to use the rest of the month to recuperate and reflect to take care of our mental health. With that being said, we will resume recording and release episodes most likely in mid July, so if you reached out to be on the show, bare with us and we will get back to you once we’re back in action!

In the meantime, Season 3 Episode 11 is here! Fayth and Daren discuss the roots of New Anthem, how Darens past bands have influenced the direction his band is going in now, AND how the scene could be more inclusive towards the LGBTQ+ community. This episode was a blast and we can’t wait for you to hear it ! We thank everyone for your patience while we take a break and we PROMISE we will be back soon!!

Fayth got the UNREAL opportunity to chat with Chris Davis, one of two guitarists of wildly popular hardcore band, The Ghost Inside.

Chris joined the band in 2015, right before an 18-wheeler hitting their tour bus left himself and the rest of the band in critical condition. Although they were left with some major injuries, all 5 band members pulled through, and tomorrow will be the first record put out since the crash occurred.

Chris and Fayth discuss all about how the new album is more than a “comeback album”, what to listen out for on the record itself , how past TGI lyrics have effected the band and SO much more.

Chris is a force of nature as a guitar player and as a person. We were SO grateful to get him on the show!

WE WILL BE DONATING $3.00 FROM EVERY LISTEN OF THIS EPISODE TO THE JUSTICE FOR REGIS FUND IN ORDER TO CONTINUE TO FIGHT FOR JUSTICE OF BLACK LIVES. When you do listen to the episode, DM us a black heart emoji so we can donate accordingly!

We’re going a little “softer” with this one, as Fayth skypes with her long time internet friend, singer-songwriter Laura Zocca.

Laura got her start by doing YouTube covers for the past 10 years. She has covers with over 300k views and 61k subscribers. Not only is she a fantastic cover artist, she is a BRILLIANT song writer and an overall badass person. We love her dearly and we KNOW you guys will too!!

We told you, we’re not playing games this season🔥😏 We know you guys must be going crazy right now from restlessness and boredom, so we’re going to keep you on your toes with more episodes each week.. and this one.. this one is downright insane.

Season 4 Episode 5 of #punksonapodcast features Frontman Shane Told of the legendary Canadian Emo Band Silverstein! This episode dives into SO much, including the beginnings of one of the most well known bands in the scene, the backstories behind their songs and what it’s taken to get where they are today.

We’re not going to reveal much else about the episode, other than we’re ridiculously thankful his tour got postponed so Shane could hop a Skype call with Fayth Starr

On a real note, having someone we look up to personally being able to share his perspective is an absolute whirlwind and we cannot wait for y’all to hear this.

Alright, we’re not playing games during this pandemic. We’re taking full advantage of this free time and banging out episodes.. and big ones.

This episode, we get a perspective from someone who has been at the front lines of the music scene for many years. If you are a fan of @adtr, @neckdeepuk, @theghostinside @wagewar or any “scene” band really, then you probably know who this guy is and have DEFINITELY heard his work.

Andrew Wade is a PLATINUM producer/ recording engineer who has played a MASSIVE role in some of our all time favourite records and most likely yours, too. @faythstarr chats with him all about his experiences in the music industry. We dive into opinions on how artists change their sound for relevance, how he views himself after being in the scene for so long and his own personal upcoming music project, @rosemaryglassmusic .

We were able to get some expert insights from the music master himself, so If you’re in a band you should 💯 percent listen to this episode.

Huge thanks again to Andrew for hopping on. It was an huge honour having such a legend on this show!🤘🏼🖤 Don’t forget to subscribe, friends! We hope everyone is staying safe!!!
