The next episode in the Full House Back To School Series S3E16: Bye, Bye Birdie, which aired on February 2, 1990

In this episode Michelle’s first day of preschool goes terribly wrong when she releases the class bird who ends up flying out an open window (what are the odds, right?).

Stephanie’s snooping finally catches up to her as she is caught red handed with DJ’s diary literally glued to her hand.

We also meet Aaron Bailey (the share king of preschool) who’s sweet demeanor turns icy as he is quick to point out Michelle’s shortcomings when she helps Dave the bird fly the coop, going so far as to remind her that she’s a very bad girl after she already berated herself.

Poor Michelle, it was an accident after all.

And what was with the wide open window? Any child could have fallen out of it.

Maybe that’s why this teacher Miss Petrie (Peh-Tree not Petrie from Land Before Time) is never heard from again and Mrs. Manning takes her place.

Apparently flattery gets you out of lectures. Just tell the person they fascinate you and boom you’re in the clear.

Hey, I mean, it worked on DJ with Stephanie.

In this episode Edward forgets Rick's father-and-son banquet when he and an old buddy revive their singing career.

Edward learns a valuable lesson in that being there for your family is more important than trying to turn a hobby into a career and reliving your glory days hoping to recapture your lost youth of becoming a music sensation.

I'll say this though, love Joel Higgins singing voice it's got that John Denver quality. that just makes me swoon.

Also there's nothing wrong with turning 40, let's see if I still feel this way three years from, right?

Full House S3E2: Back To School Blues

Airdate: September 29, 1989

In this episode

DJ’s first day of junior high could be ranked as the “worst day of my life” in her book.

A trio of scrub calling mean girls outs DJ for dressing exactly to a T like the lunch room monitor played by none other than Eliza Jane Wilder from Little House On The Prairie (I found out what happened to Eliza Jane, she got into a time machine to 1989 San Fran, JK, it’s Lucy Lee Flippin), but her mannerisms are very much straight outta Walnut Grove.

DJ and Kimmy decide to up their age

and their bra size (Kimmy) by going from 12 to 25 overnight (Danny’s words) tight clothes, clown face , the works, to the point of slathering it all over (girls, there’s such a thing as overkill).

Poor Stephanie is getting first day jitters only this time it’s because her big sis won’t have her back and she’ll be all alone “the only Tanner” she says on repeat.

Luckily for her, DJ’s worst day turns out to be Steph’s best day ever as she recounts for the guys that she’s the new fish feeder of Room 7, and how she shamed a first grader for his lack of knowledge in the literary department, I mean come on, you can’t even read the word cafeteria. What are you even doing here?

We get throwbacks to Season 1’s the first day of school when Steph mentions the phony cough, the Barbie lunch box is still rocking strong two years later and DJ’s hand me down pink bag with the white stripes is now Stephanie’s.

Becky takes a page out of Jesse’s playbook and offers DJ advice about boyfriends, slow dances and first slow kisses until Danny shuts her up with a hard look.

Joey gives Jesse golfing lessons in preparation for a motor oil campaign pitch with a client.

We get our first “You Got It Dude” from Michelle

In this episode Michelle loses the preschool's pet bird and we meet Full House's holy terror (no, not Rusty) Aaron Bailey. Also Stephanie's snooping comes back to bite her in the butt, which is what Comet should have done because she uses him as a scapegoat after she breaks the lock on DJ's diary and says he's to blame to Jesse.

That's probably why he destroys Mr. Bear as payback.

Tonight I covered Silver Spoons S3E20: Hot Shot ,which aired on March 3, 1985

In this episode a pair of scalawags (I prefer the term swindlers, absolute garbage people these two guys) use Rick in their scam to sell faulty cameras.

This was a lesson episode for anyone who’s ever been scammed or swindled.

I definitely learned quite a few things during this episode.

1. Never trust a classified job that lists these words in their AD.

No Experience Necessary, All Ages Considered, Sales, Earnings Unlimited.

I would have so many questions, the first one being, Is this legal?

Granted if I have to ask this one. I should already know the answer. H 2 the NO!

What kind of sales?

What do you mean by all ages considered?

Earnings Unlimited (So, I basically work on commission and don’t earn until I sell.

Forget you. BYE

I’m sorry but if I walk into an interview and see food on the table especially plates and silverware, I’m gone.

Beyond unprofessional (like, what did I just walk in on, dinner, uh... no thank you.

2. Golden Rule- If something sounds to good to be true, it probably is.

I one time went into a job based on a similar description in a classified ad but it was for selling knives and found out I wouldn’t be getting paid till I started making sales.

Another time I forked over $100 to a job hunting company in the early 2000’s to use their computers to find job postings and go out on leads. Never got my non refundable money back either when I decided it was a terrible idea.

Stupid lessons learned when you’re 19.

Also in this episode I find out how old you have to be to donate plasma, how many 5 cent aluminum cans you'd need to get $150, ANSWER: 3,000 cans. GAH!

And this is before the automated self serve machines.

And I figure how much $150 from 1985 would be in 2019. It came out to $357 supposedly with an Inflation Calculator.

For this new segment in honor of the month of Fall I present to you the Full House Back To School Series, all these Full House Episodes will focus on the first day of school from the girls starting a new school year in Season 1, to DJ entering junior high as she struggles with her identity and finding out where she belongs in the junior high crowd, in Season 3, Michelle's first day of preschool gets off to a rough start when she lets the class pet escape, also in Season 3, Michelle starts kindergarten and we meet Teddy this is def not a meet cute, and Stephanie starts 4th grade with a man teacher who she has a crush on in Season 5, Stephanie tries to fit in with the tough crowd who tempt her to smoke when she starts junior high in Season 7, and Jesse has hard hard time letting go of Nicky and Alex when they start preschool in Season 8.

Today, I covered Full House S1E3: The First Day Of School, which aired on October 2, 1987.

In this episode Danny, Jesse and Joey try to convince Stephanie that school is cool while DJ tries to make a clean escape!

I really enjoyed this episode as I could relate to Stephanie in a way that we all can really first days in a new school or a new job where you don't know anyone is both scary and intimidating.

Danny's words ring true "If you don't try something new, you never know what you could be missing out on. These words can be applied to almost anything.

We also get hilarious lines delivered from Stephanie and a sweet sister moment between DJ and Stephanie as they both learn a lesson about change and new beginnings.

Uncle Jesse gets a little too adult when giving advice to Stephanie about being nervous when trying new things, as he almost goes into explicit detail about losing his virginity to an older experienced girl when he was fourteen, luckily Danny cuts him off with a hard look. TMI Jess.

Today I covered S3E19: Trouble With Words, which aired on February 24, 1985.

In this episode When Alfonso is not doing well in school, Dex thinks he is spending too much time on his dancing. And when Alfonso's grades don't improve, Dex forbids from entering a dance competition. But Bruce Jenner who is trying out some exercise equipment Edward has developed, thinks he knows what Alfonso's problem is.

This was a strong Alfonso episode, he really knocked it out of the park with his acting in this one. I like that we dealt with a serious topic that is still very prevalent today, dyslexia.

Granted this was 1985 and sometimes this learning disability tended to get overlooked by teachers and school officials or even sometimes misdiagnosed as another learning disability like ADD or ADHD.

I'd like to think we've come quite a long way since then and now have specialists who are able to properly diagnose children and schools are able to help children not feel isolated and alone as they struggle to adapt to a new way of learning.

I looked up on Amazon and there are tools like specials pen readers for people with dyslexia.

Also there have been many sitcoms that have dealt with learning disabilities from dyslexia to only being able to read a little or even not at all.

I love how Bruce Jenner guest starred and showed Alfonso that even celebrities and geniuses like Albert Einstein suffer from dyslexia even Bruce Jenner himself and that is doesn't keep you from achieving your dreams you just have to work harder than most.

I’ve got a treat for you in the form of the final episode in my Full House Summer Fun Series,

Today, I covered Fuller House S2E1: Welcome Back.

Everyone’s back for a new season and we get a new character, Kimmy’s little brother Jimmy Gibbler who’s got his sights set on Stephanie after they kiss during a duet.

Jackson’s still chasing after Lola even though she just wants to be friends, before DJ can finally reveal who she chose between Matt and Steve they announce they have girlfriends.

Max gives us a Season 1 recap and spends this episode and most of Season 2 trying to improve and save the environment.

Ramona came back from dance camp where Kimmy came for visitor’s day and never left. She stayed 6 weeks out of a 7 week program.

Fernando is now living in the Tanner home due to his eviction.

This house just got a little Fuller.

And adorable toddler Tommy starts taking his first steps.

Today in honor of my 37th birthday I'm covering Fuller House S1E7: Ramona's Not-So-Epic Party, which aired on February 26, 2016.

In this episode Kimmy and Fernando put together Ramona's much-anticipated 13th Birthday party and it doesn't go as planned, for anybody. Meanwhile Steve (out of jealousy) tries to set up DJ's attractive co-worker with Kimmy.

Also in this episode I found out that Hot Dog Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut was actually a thing. Plus DJ's a vet and should have more patience with Cosmo's accidents since he's a puppy and she needs to have more faith in Max's potty training efforts.

I loved Stephanie's love advice to Jackson about just being himself to impress Lola.
