EPISODE 14. We spoke with Dr. Nahmedin Meshkati, leader of the international technical council to investigate the causes of the nuclear tragedy in Fukushima, Japan. On March 11, 2011, a double tragedy happened in this city: first a Tsunami and then a Nuclear outbreak. New reports are still being made, but the main analysis indicates that even with all levels of security and prevention, the situation got out of control. About 16 thousand people lost their lives, incalculable material damage, and more than one city in ruins. This talk puts the world nuclear community in context to rethink the use of nuclear energy.
