Puppet Masters of None

It's officially Spoooooky season, and you all know what that means; spooky puppets on PMoN! For this year's first monstrous puppet film, the boys sit down with a truly terrifying film, Ernest, Scared Stupid! In this 90's classic, legendary comedian, Jim Varney, bring his classic redneck character, Ernest P Worrell, to the horror genre with a frightening romp for the whole family. (or at least the 10 year old boys in the family.) Can Ernest stop Trantor the Troll from stealing the children of Briarville before an army of killer clowns from outer space...eh em.... I mean grotesque trolls take over the world? Is this movie funny to anyone who does not appreciate the subtle art of the fart joke? Where does it fall on the newly resurrected spooky scale? And how the heck did they manage to book the legendary Eartha Kitt in this mess of a film? You'll just have to listen to find out! KnowhutImean?

Look at us, here we are, right where we belong! The PMoN boys are back with another deep dive into a movie on the Space to Carol Spectrum. This week, Ben and Will discuss the much debated, The Muppets Take Manhattan! Will Will (hehe double wills) be able to convince Ben that this is actually a pretty good Muppet film and get it a boost on the Space to Carol or will it forever be relegated to the bottom half of the scale? With such great music, major nostalgia, and the birth of the Muppet Babies, it might just stand a chance! Join us on another puppet-y adventure because YOU HEAR THAT NEW YORK?!? THE PUPPET MASTERS ARE STAYIN'!

You make me feel like dancin'! This week on PMoN, the boys continue their series of the magical wheel's monthly Muppet Show of the month, where we gather favorite guest stars chosen by our discord fam and spin the wheel to decide what Muppet Show episode we will be discussing. This week, the wheel landed on Leo Sayer! If you aren't as familiar with who that is, well then you are in good company because neither is Ben or Will! This one is...interesting. After having watched it and recorded a full episode on it, the Puppet Masters still don't really know how they feel about this particular episode, so it looks like they are going to have to listen along with all of you just to find out! From giant birds to ingenue pigs to bears wielding saw-fish, this episode has a little bit of everything. So without further ado, sit back, relax, and enjoy our latest review of an episode of The Muppet Show! YAAAAAAYYYY!

Did somebody say cheap 3D tricks?!?! This week on Puppet Masters of None, Ben had the great pleasure of heading down to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to experience the great Muppet extravaganza that is Muppet Vision 3D! With all the rumors of its potential closing, (and these are JUST rumors mind you) Ben wanted to take a pilgrimage down to Jim Henson's last official Muppet project and relive the magic one (or four) more times. As the final performances of Jim Henson's Kermit and Richard Hunt's Scooter, this show holds a very special place in the hearts of Muppet fans around the world. Today, Ben and Will take a deep dive into Muppet Vision's production and history, as well as where all these unsavory rumors are coming from and if they have any truth to them at all. So join us in reliving a truly remarkable Muppet experience that sits as a wonderful testament to the genius legacy of Jim Henon and his prolific work.

It's time to...PUPPET UP!!! Have we got a show for you! This week Ben and NOT Will (sorrynotsorry) had the great pleasure of talking to Henson puppeteer extraordinaire, RAYMOND CARR!!! Raymond has had such an amazing career with the Henson company and has worked on so many projects, it was difficult to contain the conversation to just one piece, but we managed to talk in depth about the Jim Henson Company puppet improv show for adults, Puppet Up! From the rehearsal process to some of the amazing techno wizardry they use in this groundbreaking comedy show, Raymond lets us in on all the secrets and gives us the scoop on what it's like being one of the Henson Company go-to puppeteers. Raymond has had an absolutely fascinating career both as a puppeteer and a short film maker, so we know you are going to love this interview as much as we did!

You can find more of Raymond on instagram @theninjapuppet or his website ninjapuppetproductions.com

Oh. My. Gosh. When Will and Ben started this podcast almost a year and a half ago, they never imagined the sheer number of amazing guests that they would have the privilege to interview. But never in their wildest dreams did they believe that they would be able to sit down and have a conversation with such an American treasure, the one, the only, LAMBCHOP! Joined by her big sister (and current performer,) Mallory Lewis, the boys get the absolute pleasure of asking a true American diva such hard hitting questions as "what's it like being such a cultural icon," and "how do you feel about being the world's most recognizable dog toy?" This one was so much fun to record, and we hope you get as giddy with excitement as we did. Join us reveling in the quick wit undeniable love that is Lambchop and Mallory.

This is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friends........Well folks, we finally did it! A show about the American cultural icon, none other than the wonderfully sassy and oh so adorable, Lambchop! And this one is so big we decided to make it a two part-er! For our first installment, Ben and Will dive into the illustrious career of ventriloquist, comedienne, and all around amazingly talented performer Shari Lewis. From her early days on the Captain Kangaroo show, to every 90's kid's favorite play along, Shari Lewis has been making generations of kids smile, encouraging them to get up off the couch and do everything from playing games to making art and music.  Hush Puppy, Charlie Horse, and everyone's (and their dog's) favorite little lamb, are just some of the amazing characters Shari has given us over the years and this week we dive deep into her exceptional legacy. Don't forget to join us next week for part two, "Lambchop and Mallory" when we talk to Shari's daughter, Mallory Lewis, who has continued her mother's phenomenal work, and get the chance to converse with the one, the only, Lambchop herself! You won't want to miss it!

I LOVE ADVENTURE!!! And so does Timmy the Tooth! This week, Ben and Will are giddy with excitement for one of their childhood classics, The Adventures of Timmy the Tooth! For those of you who were not lucky enough to be children during the glorious heyday of direct to VHS puppet entertainment in the mid 1990's, Timmy the Tooth was a phenomenal home video series starring the titular Timmy the Tooth and his friends going on fantastical adventures. And who better to walk us through a nostalgia laden tour of this fantastic puppet show than with the creators, writers and lead puppeteers of Timmy the Tooth themselves, Kevin Carlson and James Murray! This is a hilarious interview with two amazingly creative and talented minds who made and entire generation of kids smile (and think about their teeth in the process!) From the initial show concept to some amazing behind the scenes stories, you won't want to miss this one!
