Welcome back, Helsingers.  The end has arrived and how bittersweet has it been to watch our faves truly come full circle. Vanessa, Violet, and Jack face off with the Dark One for one last battle and it’s pretty epic. Ivory and Axel are forced to turn back to help President Park and his son.

Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down ep 5x12, “The Voices” and 5x13, “Novissima Solis”. Bathory received the Van Helsing bite and she was turned back, but being a bride of Dracula isn’t very easy on the psyche. Vanessa tries to help by using one of her new Dark Realm maneuvers. She’s able to get into Bathory’s mind, but the Dark One is still able to exert control from afar.

First, she has Bathory attack Jack and retrieve the amulet. It’s not long before, Dracula is fully powered up and using that energy to darken the skies and turn everyone possible in her vicinity into vampires. The Van Helsings and those they’ve turned are immune to the force of the Dark One’s power.

What did you think of the final showdown between the Dark One and Vanessa? The amulet is destroyed, but Vanessa once again levels up and she becomes the vessel for all of that darkness. Were you shocked to find out that Olivia’s consciousness was tucked away within the Dark One? Axel ends where he began. Watching over Vanessa. Olivia returns and meets her descendants. Ivory takes off to track down what remands of the Sisterhood.

Welcome back, Helsingers.  The end is near. Next week heralds the series finale of our long journey. Syfy dropped the final three penultimate episodes last night in a surprise treat for the fans. We’ll include our recap of 5x12 with next week’s finale.

Hit play and listen in as Brad and Cort break down eps 5x10 and 5x11. In the first episode of the evening, Axel and Violet are so close to reuniting with Vanessa, Ivory, and Jack in DC. They just need to find a way over the wall first. Unlike Vanessa, they can’t travel through portals. This leg of the trip brings them into contact with the former President, Davis Park who was turned on Day One of the Rising.

The second episode, “Undercover Mother” serves up one helluva treat as we get the awesome Ali Liebert portraying Vanessa going undercover as Nina. Plus, Ivory and Jack make it to Washington and team up with the Resistance. They all work together to try to bring Bathory back to their side.

Welcome back, Helsingers. This week Julius gets a reacquainted with an old friend. Nina turns out to be way more than a blood covered, pretty face. Back in the 80’s, Julius was at a pretty low point. He’s broken with Dmitri’s Brood and was off on his own with his Mama.

Were you worried that he would take off with her after their recent reunion? Were you upset when she tried to turn him when clearly he was enjoying being human again? How awesome was it to see Mama again?

Ivory and her sisters find themselves still adjusting to their new reality as former vampires. Some are tormented by centuries of bloody deeds and others are having trouble coping with the fear of this new world.

How cool was it to hear Ivory’s backstory. Getting more on her sisters, Mira and Zuma twisted the knife deeply. After figuring out what was stalking their group, Violet gets a surprise about her own sister, Jack. Somehow her sister traveled to the past.

She’s ready to wield her newfound power through Dracula, but there’s just one huge problem. Michaela has no idea the ancient power that she’s trifled with. The Dark One quickly makes clear who is in control.

Welcome back, Helsingers. This week’s episode picks up not long after Jack landed herself in the clink for murdering Lady Olivia. Sure she was able to temporarily derail Michael’s plans, but Jack ends up on the gallows for her actions. Thankfully, a broken neck doesn’t do much to keep a Van Helsing down for very long. While Jack takes a brief dirt nap, Michaela moves forward with her plans to use Olivia as the vessel for her dark plan. First, she must resurrect poor Olivia.

Welcome back, Helsingers. Our show’s finally back and it seems that we’re in for one wild ride. The last episode left us on quite the cliffhanger, but we quickly are clued in to Jack’s fate. Thanks to Vanessa , her offspring doesn’t languish overlong in that coffin. Instead she jumps through a portal and lands in an unexpected time and place.

It turns out that Vanessa has sent the younger Van Helsing back to pull a Back to the Future, make enough changes their timeline. How can she do this? By killing Olivia von Dracula (Tricia Helfer) who turns out to be the Dark One we came to know last season.

The circle closes and chaos begins yet again in this version of Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’. This time around there’s an all-new Coda from the author. The episode opens with the return of Capitan Trips. Except it’s only baby Abby who is afflicted. There’s been no word of survivors from New Vegas. Thankfully, those two crises are addressed quickly. With her healthy baby and her man at her side, Frannie decides that it’s time to leave Boulder in the rearview for a while.
