Purgatory for Your Inner Child
In the Roman Catholic tradition Purgatory are for those souls, still tied to this fallen world, by some unforgiveable sin, that requires the intercessional prayers of those left behind to help them cross over.
I never accepted the idea that man had a part to play in others getting into heaven; but believe that those who die, cannot cross over into the light, until they have all their baggage.
This makes perfect sense to me; so much so; I realized the only way for me to make peace with my past, was when I gave up all the details and the baggage of what happened to that 12 year old child from more than 50 years ago, back to him.
He couldn't cross over into the light, becuase i had held him hostage by maintaining what happened to him ,was mine to suffer and seek justice for,
I had taken him hostage by my actions, and self sabotaged my life in turn.
I was my own worst enemy
&
I was continuing to give life to his trauma: my actions betrayed him.
I learned I had to release my 12 year old inner child from the state of purgatory I can consigned him to unknowingly.
A sobering truth i needed to face, if i were to have any hope of a possible normal life today, and more importantly, it was time to stop holding my inner child, my younger self hostage and enable his to step into the light, to finally leave this plane of existence
