Our suffering has a purpose- to glorify God in being sustained and saved from it. You Have a Purpose in Your Suffering.

Tonight we continue the section of Thomas Watson's study of the sixth petition of the Lord's Prayer -from his book by that title- that offers -rocks of support- as -comfort for tempted souls-. Rocks 4-7 are covered this evening- 4- The best men may be most tempted- 5- Satan can go no further in tempting than God gives him leave- 6- It is not having a temptation that makes guilty, but giving consent to it- 7- Our being tempted is no sign of God's hating us- 8- Christ's temptation was for our consolation conquering as our head and representative thus we are more than conquerors in union with Him- 9- The saints' temptation shall not be above their strength but God makes a way to endure- 10- These temptations shall produce much good in us, such as to pray more and better and keep us humble.

A concern for our covenant daughters is that they are raised up to be beautiful, steady, support stones of Christ's church. Cherish Our Church's Covenant Daughters.

God's concern about his people is that they be faithfully holy with their sacred covenant marriage unions so that they do not jeopardize the major purpose of building His Church from within with holy children. God Seeks Godly Seed of Our Church Families.

Rocks 1-3 are covered this evening- 1- It is not our case alone but that of God's most eminent saints- 2- Temptations -where they are burdens- are evidence of grace- and 3- Jesus Christ is near at hand to sympathize with us and succor us -run speedily to our help- in temptation.

God's call to repentance from sin so we can sow and grow seeds of sanctification is first to break up the ground of our hearts and remove the weeds of wickedness. You Must Labor to Grow in Grace.
