Purple Antics Podcast

It’s College Football Playoff Sunday, and Purple Antics is going full throttle. We’re recapping JMU’s wild year, breaking down Bob Chesney’s departure, stacking him up against Cignetti, and reacting live to the CFB Selection Show chaos. Plus: Is the Billy Napier era the beginning of something big? And of course, we close it out with our best bets for Sunday and Monday night — unders, upsets, and a couple QB props you’ll want to hear before kickoff.

In this action-packed episode, Steak Sauce and DukeDogBurner tackle the latest in football and basketball, diving deep into the chaotic landscape of the transfer portal. With FCS players making waves in the FBS, including stars like WRs Jaylan Sanchez and Landon Ellis, and Matthew Sluka's move to JMU, they question if NIL money tipped the scales. They also break down the early January 10-day portal period and speculate on JMU’s QB situation.

Switching gears, they review JMU basketball. Can the Men’s team (9-8, 2-3 Sun Belt) overcome inconsistency and finally grab an away win? Meanwhile, the Women’s team (13-4, 5-0 Sun Belt) looks poised for a deep postseason run after a tough OOC schedule. Will they break through in the NCAA tourney?
