Welcome to the Purple Pillage and week #3.

We discuss the Vikings' 23-16 win over Tampa Bay on Sunday. Justin Jefferson went out early with an ankle injury but the special teams came through to put most of the points on the board. The defense shined once again, as the offense continues to try to get on track. 

We also look ahead to the 0-3 Dolphins coming to US Bank stadium this coming Sunday. They will be without their starting running back, Achane. The Vikings are hoping to get Jefferson back and to get the offense going. We discuss other keys to the game, to hopefully get the Vikings to 4-0, as they are an 11.5 point favorite.

Welcome to the Purple Pillage and week #2.

We take a look back at the Vikings 9-3 win over the Bears in Chicago. We discuss how the Vikings excelled in adverse weather conditions and played relatively mistake free on offense and made some big plays on defense to get the road win. We give our offensive and defensive players of the game.

We also take a look ahead, as the Vikings travel to Tampa Bay on Sunday to take on the Bucs. Baker Mayfield at QB and Bucky Irving at RB have led the way on their offense, yet, they are 0-2 on the season and in, what some would say, is a must win already in the season. The Vikings are on the other end of the spectrum, looking to stay undefeated and improve to 3-0. Kyler Murray has passed concussion protocol and has already been named a starter for Sunday, as Carson will fall back to backing him up. We discuss other keys to a Viking victory and give our predictions for the week.

Welcome to The Purple Pillage and Week #1.

The Vikings open week one with a 39-22 win over Green Bay. They would lose starting QB, Kylar Murray early to a concussion. The Vikings struggled offensively and defensively in the first half, but gained momentum in the 2nd half, behind Wentz and especially Justin Jefferson. Defensively, they were led by Van Ginkel, Cashman and Turner.

Up next is a road game in Chicago with a noon kickoff on Sunday.

Welcome to the Purple Pillage season preview!

We kick our season off in this first report; touching on how the 53 man roster has already been tweaked with the signing of Van Noy and Harrison Smith who is returning for another season. We also touch on the current QB situation and how it has played out. Finally, we discuss the home opener against Green Bay on Sunday.

We go over keys to the game and our predictions on the outcome.

We put a wrap on our season of the Purple Pillage this week. We discuss free agency and which players are pending free agents for the Vikings. We also consider several reported possible cuts from the roster, as the Vikings are over the salary cap right now.

We also preview the draft and look at some position needs for the team.

The Vikings wrap up their season with a 16-3 win over Green Bay. The defense shines again. We discuss our offensive and defensive players of the week.


We also preview the AFC and NFC playoff picture and give our super bowl picks.

The Vikings held on to a 13 point lead to defeat the Lions at home 23-10 this past weekend. The Vikings defense were the stars of the game, forcing 6 turnovers to give the offense plenty of opportunities. We discuss the keys to the game and give our offensive and defensive players of the game.

Next up are the Packers, who are not in a must win situation and the odds reflect that. The Vikings are 6.5 point favorites and we discuss the keys to a Vikings victory as well as give our predictions.

The Viking's defense shows up again as they key a Viking 16-13 win over the Giants in New York. JJ McCarthy was 9-14 for 108 yard before leaving in the 2nd half with a hand injury. We give our offensive and defensive players of the week and discuss other Vikings players that contributed to the victory.

The Vikings host Detroit on Christmas day and are 7.5 point underdogs. Brosmer will start at QB as McCarthy has a hairline fracture to his right hand and will miss at least one week. We discuss keys to the game, as both teams head into the short week. St. Brown is also questionable right now, which would be a big blow to the Lions offense as they try to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. We preview other keys to the game as well.

The Vikings make it 2 in a row with a road win in Dallas 34-26. JJ McCarthy has now had his, perhaps first, pair of back to back good games this season. We discuss his and the offensive performance along with opportunistic defense, as well as announce our offensive and defensive players of the game. 

Up next, the Vikings head to New York to take on the Giants on Sunday. The Vikings are currently a 2.5 point favorite. We discuss the matchup in more detail.

We've been asking for it for some time on the Purple Pillage. For the Vikings to incorporate a short passing game to help out their porous offensive line and young QB. We finally saw it on Sunday against Washington, as the Vikings cruised to a 31-0 victory. JJ McCarthy threw for 3 touchdowns and no interceptions for a 129.2 QB rating. The defense also played well, obviously, in shutting out the Commanders. We discuss other keys and give our players of the week.

We also preview this Sunday's matchup, as the Vikings travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys in the NBC Sunday night game. The Vikings are 5.5 point underdogs but Jake and Neil agree that if they stick to that short passing game, the defense continues to click, they can likely leave Dallas with a W. We discuss other key factors to the game as well.
