DJ GRIND (Stephen Massey) is one of the most sought-after DJs and producers on the gay circuit. Together with his production partner Toy Armada, DJ GRIND is also a Billboard #1 remixer and producer, with more than a dozen official remixes that have topped the US and UK Dance/Club Charts. Every time I DJ, I know that a new story will unfold. That is the story of “us” on that night and what I know is, as it all comes together, that I can be sure that the audience knows why I want THIS STORY to happen. Because I love music that much and I simply cannot restrain myself from sharing that feeling. On this night I had an amazing return to a favorite city of mine, Dallas. Working at the legendary Station 4 nightclub doing my thing for the hottest new event there titled “SPIN”. The event creators had imagined a spectacular production with special lighting and energetic images to make an event that would totally stimulate ALL of your senses, and it was not just me that believes that we succeeded in doing that that night. Though my set was about 4 hours long, I tried to highlight pieces from it to give you a taste of my Sugar so that you can share an experience with these ingredients in the mix. Included in this set are many of my exclusive and private mixes, along with a debut of several new productions and remixes that include Martha Wash, Colton Ford, and many more.

I intentionally chose to leave out the track listing so that you wouldn’t know what titles are making the journey happen. I will do that later and let you SPIN through it in the meantime.

Tony Moran, however, is more than a man that works the DJ booth and studio. An accomplished singer and songwriter, he has released a number of independent singles and CDs throughout his three-decade long (and counting) career. His latest offering, entitled MAGIC is a universal embrace of soul, sympathy and conviction. MAGIC has been two years in the making, and follows hot on the heels of his previous tour de force double dance CD, THE EVENT. The lead single from MAGIC is You Are, an original Moran composition featuring powerful vocals by Frenchie Davis.

EARLY ROOTS Drawing strength from the challenges of his childhood surroundings in Brooklyn, Tony Moran capitalized on the melting pot of creativity that lay before him in the form of music. It’s hard to say whether Tony Moran discovered music or music discovered Tony Moran, but after naturally gravitating to the DJ tables and attracting partygoers by the hundreds to his gigs, Tony Moran himself got discovered by a program director of a prominent radio station in New York City in the early 80s.

This success opened the floodgates to producing and remixing work for a variety of artists ranging from Run-DMC and LL Cool J to The Beach Boys and Diana Ross, who struck gold on the dance floor with the Latin Rascals’ magic touch. The duo, with Moran on lead vocals, also busied themselves performing live in clubs and stadiums across the country.

FLYING SOLO Heeding the call to develop himself artistically as an individual, Tony Moran went on to write, remix and produce albums and songs for a range of acts as diverse as Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Cher, Luther Vandross, Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion, Jennifer Holiday, Jon Secada, Barry Manilow, Kenny G and even the London Symphony Orchestra.

Not to be left out, of course, are club queens Deborah Cox, Kristine W, Suzanne Palmer and Inaya Day, who have all churned out dance smash after dance smash with Tony Moran at the helm.

Michael’s talents behind the booth have been pursued by such great circuit events as White Party Week and Winter Party Festival in Miami, Snowball in Singapore, Halloween New Orleans and Mardi Gras New Orleans, Purple Party Dallas, San Francisco’s Pride, Rio De Janiero’s Carnaval and New Year’s Eve, Austin’s Splash, White Party Buenos Aires, and Jungle Houston. This award-winning DJ has performed in surreal mega-clubs such as Cameo in Miami Beach, Rich’s in Houston, Universe in San Francisco, Blu in Atlanta, and in his current hometown of Fort Lauderdale at The Manor.

Tank’s abilities have earned him resident DJ status during his career at a multitude of clubs across the nation including Rich’s in Houston, the original Brick in Dallas, Oz in New Orleans, Universe in San Francisco, and currently at the infamous Twist in Miami Beach to name just a few. The high demand of his infectious style took him to new crossroads like blazing into the Seattle scene by performing at The Cuff in 2015. Michael creates hugely popular new remixes, mash-ups and podcasts which are heard across the globe.

In addition, Michael is finishing his degree at Florida Atlantic University in Exercise Science and Health Promotion and while he is focusing on his clients as a Personal Trainer and Health Coach, he is continuously pulled back to the music. The rhythms always keep him dancing and he is always drawn back to the beats of the underground. “It’s in my blood to mix music and I’ll never stop dancing! Music and dancing is the soul that keeps the world from falling apart and it will always be a part of me.”

Praised by clubgoes, promoters, club managers and his music industry peers, James has shown a tremendous amount of versatility in the DJ booth. From soaring vocal house sets, to tribal afterhours, to poolside classic tea dances, James has maintained a reputation as a dance music jack-of-all-trades to his followers around the globe.

Much like his live sets, James’ remixes have been hailed as peak hour staples- producing tracks for some of dance music’s most legendary vocalists and producers, such as Deborah Cox, Betty Who, Tony Moran, Kathy Brown, Kimberly Davis, Franklin Fuentes, Terri B, Peppermint, La India and many more. His popular “Circuit Workout” podcast is enjoyed by fans around the globe.

In October of 2010, Brandon left his residencies and concentrated on private events and parties. He has become a sought after DJ for several charitable organizations in the Dallas area. The Purple Foundation has invited him to spin at the main event of The Purple Party three years in a row. He has spun the Dallas Red Party twice, The Lambda Legal White Party in Dallas, the Toast to Life Reception for the Dallas Resource Center, and the official Black Tie Dinner After Party. His favorite charity event was a private Christmas party in which the attendees were required to bring a teddy bear to donate to Children’s Medical Center.

It gives me great joy to see friends having fun on the dance floor, with smiles on their faces. It’s really quite simple…I love music, I love to dance, and I love making people happy. Chris Huffstutler proudly serves as the IT Design & Director of Purple Foundation.  As music is one of his passions, he creates dance sets as another way to expand this deep appreciation.  His Purple Foundation bio follows:

Chris, Born and raised in small-town Missouri, has been working with computers since he was seven years old. While other kids took to computers to play video games, he took to computers to learn programming and coding. At Fourteen, Chris took his first job working with computers. He graduated with his BS in Computer Information Systems from Missouri State University in 2001. Upon graduating, he moved to Dallas to take his position at AT&T as Senior Data Analyst where he specializes in data warehousing, mining, and analysis.

Chris’s involvement in Purple goes back to its earliest years when he gave his time as a volunteer. After taking a few years away, he returned in 2010 to offer his technology and design related skills to the growing organization. In 2011, Chris joined the Purple Foundation Board of Directors.

Chris says he is the kind of person who prefers to spend his free time engaging in activities that challenge his brain, rather than sitting through more passive forms of entertainment. That trait probably led him to computers at such a young age. Being involved with Purple gives him joy dually as it fulfills that need in his personality as well as fulfilling a growing desire to give back to the community.

Computers and technology are not the only things that define Chris. Music is another major passion – he is a classically trained pianist, having taken lessons since he was five years old. More recently, Chris has developed a love of photography.
