True glory isn't found in worldly success but in surrendering to God's purposes, even through suffering. When Jesus faced the cross, his soul was troubled, yet he prayed for the Father's name to be glorified rather than seeking escape. The cross accomplished three crucial things: judgment of this world's false values, Satan's defeat, and drawing all people to Christ. Many still reject Jesus despite clear evidence because they prefer their own expectations over God's truth. When we persistently turn away from God, our hearts become hardened through spiritual neglect. Christ calls us to walk in his light with urgency, seeking God's glory above our own comfort.
