  • The Messy Truth About Healing

Transformation sounds glorious… until you’re actually in it. Healing is basically: “I’m fine. Wait, I’m not. Hold on, I think I’m enlightened.” Never mind, I’m not.

In our very first episode, Denise and Sandy get honest about growth: the kind that feels good, the kind that hurts, and the kind that makes you laugh at yourself.

    In this episode:

    • Why pain is inevitable, but suffering is a choice
    • The “glasses” we wear, and what happens when we clean them
    • Sandy’s muddy-water experiment (try it at home, and remember to turn off the tap)
    • Why there’s no one right way to meditate or heal. For Sandy, it’s service and chopping vegetables. Denise went from painting to dancing to crocheting to baking, and finally to just sitting with herself.
    • The lotus flower and the struggle nobody else sees
    • Falling off the bike (or roller skates) and getting back up faster
    • Why it takes the same energy to stay stuck in the story as it does to step out of it
    • Meet your hosts, and why we started Purpose Lane
