We all are human. We want to fall back into our lazy ways not pursuing after Christ and His righteousness. It's hard work! We may even think we can float for a little bit in the middle- not pushing the "good Christian" thing very hard- and not living in out right sin and rebellion.

But because we are human, if we aren't pursuing after righteousness we are automatically falling away from Christ. It is only by His power we stay connected and want to lean more into our walk with Him.

Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, sometimes we need to fight hand in hand with our Savior. Thank goodness Isaiah reminds us that we don't have to do it alone!

As women and mommas, we do this all the time! Comparison. We may even do it so much we aren't even aware we are doing it! But is it healthy, is it what God wants for our lives? How can we begin to love our selves enough to speak kindness and truth to our hearts so we can love others better?

James chapter 2:14 teaches us how faith and works are intertwined to produce a saving faith. Without works our faith is dead. We must get up off the bench and participate in the things that God has prepared for us in advance.

James 3:13-18

How do we become wise in the mist of broken people? James tells us we need to live well, live wisely, and live humbly, treat others with dignity and honor.

While fishing with my son, Jesus asked me if I was willing to give up those things that I was passionate about. Matthew 18

We have things in our life we don't want to give up on! Health, loved ones, relationships, dreams, children... This story of Jacob reminds us that God honors our persistence, don't give up, keep pressing forward to grab hold of His promises!
