Youth Director Scott Grow teaches on Jesus's Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.

From the creation of humans in Genesis 1 through Revelation we see that God created humans to have dominion over creation. We haven't done a very good job at that, but we can learn from Jesus, the Son of Man, who fulfills that vocation perfectly.

Weird things happened on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. The disciples then - and now - understand our lives best when we look at them in terms of who God is and what he's doing.

In 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 the Bible clearly teaches that women need to remain silent in church. Or does it? When we look not only at the rest of 1 Corinthians, but also the rest of Paul and at the Bible as a whole, we see a different picture. Our starting point (as Scot McKnight suggested), is to ask What Did Women Do?

Looking through the lens of Revelation 5, we see that worship is practice in living according to God's reality. 

Cleopas and his fellow disciple were trudging to their home in Emmaus, broken-hearted that Jesus was dead. Jesus, raised from the dead by the Father, met them on the road and changed their lives.

In Daniel 1, Daniel and his friends are faced with recruitment by Babylon. They have to decide in advance who they want to be. We need to make a similar decision, lest we just be batted around by the desires of others.

Jesus' cry of dereliction from the cross - "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" came out of the deep suffering and forsakenness he experienced. Where was his Father at this time? What can we gain from Jesus' experience to help us in our own times of feeling forsaken?

In Ephesians 4 Paul lays out some essential elements of our life together in Christ.

In Mark 11 we see Jesus cursing a fig tree and overturning tables in the temple. Why was he doing this? Was he just losing his temper? There's much more to this story when we consider the Old Testament connections.
