As we celebrate freedom and independence as Americans, make sure you consider the tension Christians are called to live in. We are called to give away ourselves as servants even in our freedom. We are not called to independence but to lives of dependence on God and his people. Ask yourself have I made myself a servant to the world around me and do I live a dependent lifestyle, relying on God and his people?
