There's an old saying that "money can't buy me happiness", but according to a current Country song, "it could buy me a boat."
How often we find ourselves looking for happiness in some THING. Whether it's a boat or a house or a clean-bill-of health.
I know I have certainly been guilty. Even our Founding Fathers, in the Declaration of Independence, guaranteed our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Funny thing though, while they guaranteed our right to life and liberty, when it comes to happiness, they merely guaranteed our right to pursue it.
Perhaps it is because happiness is elusive. It can be pursued, but never caught.
But don't get discouraged, if you are still searching for happiness,
God has something much better to offer. While happiness can be pursued
but never caught, God promises that if we seek HIM, we WILL find him.
And when we find Him, and draw near, we also find Peace,
Contentment, Joy and Supreme Blessedness!
