Dr. Jonny kicks off season 5 by releasing vision for the new year. There is maybe only one common denominator or one thing Americans value most, that is our children. Most everyone wants their children to thrive and have meaning in their lives. So, it should bring shock and concern to learn that we are, in fact, killing our kids… and Dr. Jonny feels like he can prove it! When a culture loses a generational mindset, there are predictable casualties. When we identify the influencers of a culture, then strategic pushback can be applied, and a generation can be saved!
The holiday season is time for celebration and fun! Family sets the culture and part of family culture is just having fun together and for the Claussens, that means playing games. Play along as Dr. Jonny invites his family to join him for some Christmas and New Years family fun.
Jesus came to declare and re-present the Father to an orphaned world. He first representation of the Father’s culture was humility. He came lowly, poor, meek and wrapped not in kingly robes, but in swaddling clothes. He taught us that the only effective way to impact the world is to be clothed in humility. Without Him we can do nothing, but when we abide in Him, we can represent Jesus and His mandate to bring, “Peace on earth and good-will toward men!”
The famous Christmas carol O Little Town of Bethlehem is really about the historical collision course between mankind and the Doorway of heaven. Dr. Jonny explains that Jesus not only came as a baby two centuries ago to save us, but to be known by us today. He is what everyone is looking for, He is the answer to every question and He satisfies all the longings of our hearts!
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Dr. Jonny gives examples straight out of the headlines that highlight the importance of targeting real change in the culture. We can’t just hope things will be different, we need to be informed, know the data, learn the language and become experts in order to set the culture in the right direction!
Human’s have believed a lie from the Garden of Eden, and have been racing for superiority ever since. The misapplication of this lie has led to travesty, destruction and injustice. The “Human’s Race” today further divides us and further misapplies the lie by trying to handicap the runners. However the problem isn’t the misapplication of the lie; the problem is the lie!
Dr. Jonny announces and celebrates the birth of his new grandson. While staring in the face of a newborn, we are confronted with the difference between expectation and expectancy. Expectations are imposed and encloses us (and God) in a box. Whereas expectancy is an open box and says, “Lord, I don’t know how or what you will do, but I know You will do something, and I know it will be good!”
Dr. Jonny shares a remarkable story from the Minnesota Vikings current season where a newly acquired quarterback was unexpectedly thrown into the game without knowing the playbook or even the names of his teammates! Against all odds, with the words of the head coach in his headset, he was able to navigate the team to victory. The Father doesn’t always give us the full playbook of life, but, if we trust Him and listen to His voice, He will always direct our path.
Anxiety is the result of living outside of boundaries, and we have all experienced it. The entry point is our soul (mind, will, emotions and feelings) and the only solution the world has is to try to control our soul. However, as Dr. Jonny explains, true peace can only come from engaging our Spirit and scripture gives us the recipe that changes everything!
In a culture where marriage and family is being redefined and diluted, we need to go back to the beginning and discover what the Father intended. Dr. Jonny describes the miracle of oneness, inseparability and the uniqueness created in marriage. Any attempt from culture to maintain independence or to have separate goals, dreams or aspirations defies what Jesus said when he asserted, “so then, they are no longer two, but one flesh.”
