Yes yes we know it's a whole new year BUT it's also a new year of life for me as I just celebrated my birthday AND it's a new year for my marriage as we also celebrated our 5th year anniversary. Celebrating these new seasons was different as we couldn't do what we initially planned and I felt bummed out. However, during that time I had to really think about what I was thinking about. So this episode is Pivot Into a New Year by pivoting your thinking.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness month. Our guest Carin Jayne Casey, shares her traumatic story of living a life rooted in domestic violence. She was a victim of domestic abuse from a child and into adulthood. Fortunately she recognised that this was only a part of her story and thankfully not the end of her story. Recently I read the book Harvard Business Review: Mental Toughness which is all about creating strategies that develop our brains capacity to rejig how people in high places handle stressful situations so they can operate at an optimum yet balanced high performance. God then revealed to me that the outcome of our situations lies in how we perceive and approach them. We are to become students of our situations and learn from them and not victims of our situations. I explore the story of Joseph and set out 3 lessons he taught us to become students of our situations.
