Happy New Year! It’s the New Year. And here comes the onslaught of diet culture advising us on what we should and shouldn’t eat for our “best body ever”. We know, yo-yo dieting decreases your metabolism by decreasing your muscle mass, and increases your weight over the long term.
Bariatric surgery or weight loss surgery is the best tool we have to manage obesity. However, you are not immune from being targeted by the media and diet culture.
Our conversation today will explore how to identify a fad diet, consequences of fad diets, and their long term effects. I discuss what and how to manage your eating instead, without doing a typical ‘diet’. I also discuss how to include treats or indulgences as part of a sustainable approach to eating.
We also look into movement and how to not sign up for the gyms flash sales that happen at this time of the year.
