Come on in as I pull the bandaid off another wound - the desire to be liked or accepted. Between my pre-teen years and my 20s, I had fallen into this identity of being likeable and agreeable to gain the approval of others. The issue is I agreed or went along with things that I truly didn't like. I was just to afraid to voice or be who I really wanted to be because I didn't want to feel the familiar sting of being betrayed or disliked. I was willing to lie to myself and inflict pain on myself vs being honest with others. Over time, that brought me to a low place and today the healed version of me got to turn that on its head and see the light that comes with putting your stake in the ground.
