Ngāti Pōrou Kapahaka exponent Puti Mackey recalls the strength of waiata composition during her time growing up on the East Coast. Nuki Williams, Pare Herewini aka Polly De Lux, Apirana Ngata, Henare Waitoa and Tuini Ngawai. It's these composers that have influenced her life as a Ngāti Pōrou Kapahaka teacher.
