From serving overseas with the U.S. Navy to launching a restaurant just as COVID hit American shores, Chef Matt Lopez "puts home on the table" wherever he happens to be, even if it's fixing goat for his unit serving in Afghanistan. 

Now he's back home in the Texas Hill Country. His young restaurant, Liberty Burger + Shake in Ingram, Texas, launched in early 2020 and will celebrate a formal grand opening on July 4th weekend.

Service to the country is a Lopez family tradition, and Liberty Burger is Matt's way of giving back to the place that gave him so much. Join us as we hear about his journey from Kerrville, Texas to the Middle East, Guantanamo and Greece, and then headlong into the restaurant industry in Austin, Houston and even New York City.
