Here’s my short and sweet (jk) opinion on the idea of “twin flames”: I think it’s all a load of BULLSHIT. Come on. The idea that there’s only ONE person in the world you’re truly meant to be with? BULL. And on top of that, this kind of mentality leaves you open to some pretty serious manipulation from people who don’t actually want to help you–they just want your money in their pockets. By and large, the personal development industry has plenty of wonderful people who work with integrity. But there are some who don’t act that way at all…and some that are just plain dangerous. I decided in that moment that I was going to finally work on healing my own wounds and work on myself, so that I could experience a beautiful and fulfilling relationship. I decided to put myself first.

It’s natural—when you lose your safe person, no matter what reasons there were to break up, you’re obviously going to miss them and want them back… But that doesn’t mean it’s the right choice to make. Here’s a spicy little take for you… So many of our “limitations” are self-imposed…because we glorify our own convenience and comfort over actually seeing some growth. I recently signed up for a training I’ve been wanting to do for years. Actual f*cking years. I signed up, I paid in full, I booked for a single room, and… They messaged back and told me they only had dorms available. Shit. If you don’t know this about me, I haaate sharing my sleeping space, period. My partner and I don’t even sleep in the same room. So when I found out I’d have to stay in the dorms, I started finding reasons to try and undo the plunge I already took…until I realized I was limiting myself from something I really, really wanted for the sake of nothing but my own comfort. And I told myself what I’m also going to tell you: Get the f*ck over yourself. If you let yourself set limitations based on your own convenience and comfort, and you feel as though you’re experiencing intense stagnation…news flash, babe.
