After denying my own traumatic experiences for many years, my body eventually gave me no choice but commit to a journey of healing. Many seemingly "common" life experiences left imprints of pain and overwhelming stress in my body. I talk about trauma a lot. I see the world from a trauma-informed perspective. After years working with recovering addicts and individuals suffering from mental health struggles I have learned that some level of trauma is at the root of it all. Individuals who grew up in loving homes, very privileged lives can still suffer from trauma. As this journey of feel the heal continues - I wanted to start of with a simple explanation of trauma and put this word into context for my listeners as it is often very misunderstood.
