This week we find the crew of the Enterprise happily galivanting through the Galaxy until the Captain is kidnap and held hostage by his own friend Q. Meanwhile, back on the Enterprise, no one knows Picard is gone and Geordi is trying to counsel an Ensign new to the crew. Once returned to the Enterprise Q confesses that he's been kicked out of the continuum and asks to be made part of the crew, stating that they need him because they aren't prepared for what's coming. When not given the answer he wants Q propels the ship deeper in the galaxy where they stumble upon a ship of unknown origin, what ensues will haunt not only the Enterprise but the entire Federation for years to come. Will the Enterprise survive Q's meddling? Will the new Ensign make a good impression on the Captain? Is Guinan psychic? Can Q ever truly be trusted? What is this new threat to the Federation?
