Ho'ōla Nā Pua is committed to the prevention of sex trafficking and providing care for
children who have been exploited. Meaning “New Life for OurChildren,” Ho'ōla Nā Pua
is a 501(c)3 founded in 2013. Ho'ōla Nā Pua is dedicated to creating a community where
children are safe and have the ability to embrace their bright future.
Ho'ōla Nā Pua is renovating a 20,000sf building on a 12 acre campus with a goal to open
in 2021 as the first licensed and accredited residential facility in Hawaii to specifically
meet the unique needs of commercially sexually exploited girls. Named Pearl Haven, the
secure campus has been designed to offer physical and emotional safety for up to 32
commercially sexually exploited girls between 11-18 years. Residents will receive
treatment programs including trauma recovery, care coordination, onsite education, life
skills development and family therapy to support successful reintegration into the
community. The campus will include health rooms, classrooms, therapy rooms, a
commercial teaching kitchen, and a greenhouse.
