From common misconceptions to explaining what the stages of endo are, we are covering a lot. Education:
- Pumpkin Seeds: These seeds are rich in zinc, which is crucial for hormone balance, particularly in supporting progesterone production. They also contain magnesium, iron, tryptophan, and antioxidants like vitamin E, which help with mood regulation and overall hormonal health. Pumpkin seeds are typically consumed during the follicular phase (days 1-14 of the menstrual cycle) (Dr. Mark Hyman) (Wellness Mama®).
- Flaxseeds: High in lignans and omega-3 fatty acids, flaxseeds help balance estrogen levels. They are also rich in fiber, which promotes a healthy gut microbiome and supports blood sugar regulation. Flaxseeds are also consumed during the follicular phase (Dr. Mark Hyman) (St. Luke's Health).
- Sunflower Seeds: These seeds provide selenium, vitamin E, and other nutrients that support progesterone production and help reduce inflammation. They are consumed during the luteal phase (days 15-28 of the menstrual cycle) to support progesterone levels and gradually lower estrogen levels (HUM Nutrition) (St. Luke's Health).
- Sesame Seeds: Rich in lignans, calcium, and zinc, sesame seeds help modulate estrogen levels and support progesterone production.
