Freddy Allen is a talented musician who got his start in the business as a teenager playing music at restaurants in Missouri.
Growing up in the music scene, Freddy decided to advance his education at Central Methodist University in Missouri, before embarking on big city gigs in New York and Chicago.
Freddy has toured internationally, worked with entertainers like Phyllis Diller and Bea Arthur, and plays regularly in Chicago. Ultimately he has decided to settle down in the Quad Cities with his husband, near family. His decision to plant his roots in the QC allows our residents and visitors to enjoy his professional musical stylings, at places like The Grape Life in Davenport and The Crane and Pelican in LeClaire.
With nearly 40 years in the industry, you'd expect he's found his one true love. But au contraire! Freddy's next chapter is unfolding among the flowers. Floral arranging is something he's certified in and has worked in professionally. This musician has big plans to combine music and flowers, and is already working as a florist in his off time, dubbing himself "Freddy the Flower Guy."

The Quad Cities community has become a rich destination for runners and continues to foster a running community within, given its growing access points to cross Iowa/Illinois state lines across the Mississippi River!
There are endless opportunities to run with peers or compete against worldwide elites. The Quad Cities has numerous running groups, clubs, and road races every week.
Some of the most well known are the Bix 7 in Davenport, Iowa and the TBK Bank Quad Cities Marathon, which travels from Illinois into Iowa and back, touching four cities along the way.
Guests Joe Moreno and Phil Young are influential names in the Quad Cities running community. Phil is the owner of Fleet Feet Davenport. Joe is the former Mayor of East Moline and race director for multiple area events including the TBK Bank QC Marathon, Firecracker Run, and Freedom Run. From directing their own events to becoming known as the mayor who will high five you as you cross the finish line, hear their perspectives from participating, to volunteering to being race leads and all the ups and downs in between.

May 11, 2022 'QC, That's Where' we're tackling the 'wild idea' of a Bison Bridge over the Mississippi River

Chad Pregracke, founder of Living Lands & Waters, and more recently, the Bison Bridge Foundation explains the idea to repurpose the I-80 Bridge over the Mississippi River and to bring a herd of bison on isn't an idea that came overnight.
It's a concept that's earned the support of about 38,000 people as of spring 2022 and will keep forging ahead to the Iowa and Illinois DOTs as well as lawmakers both locally and in D.C.
Chad says he'd like to see this piece of infrastructure repurposed, as a way to conserve, save money, host wildlife, bring in tourists, and improve the quality of life and place for the population already living and investing in the Quad Cities area.

Dr. Kit Ford, the founder and director of Argrow's House of Healing and Hope talks about her journey to developing a place where survivors of violence and domestic abuse can start anew.
Argrow's House was named after Dr. Ford's grandmother, who taught her love and kindness even in the midst of pain.
As the house of healing expands its services of housing and employment to survivors, Dr. Ford says, "it takes a village," describing the Quad Cities' willingness and acceptance to helping make this mission thrive.
Dr. Ford shares memories of her grandmother, who she describes as "sweet as pie" and discusses the battle she herself faced with an attack; all now working as her northern star on a mission to help serve others.
