Qool Marv High On The Verve at Soho House NYC - 28th Re-Vision - August 19 2017 - Mind on My Matters and Our Matters on My Mind

I changed my dream, re the American Dream, from King's Dream to a dream that I like better. Like, in my dream - informed by the axiom, "the world/nobody owes you nothing" and also by my personal observations and experiences - in my dream I accepted not being accepted in America.

Informed by what people say and what people do, it was easy to see and ascertain that behaviors can be kept in check by laws, mandates, orders and the threat of prison or financial loss. "Play nice to show the world we are about progress, inclusion, and opportunity for all. Not saying you have to change your mind, however." (Said the most honest and true but scariest shadowy character in my dream.)

Knowing that mindsets stayed where they were, witnessed by the family's young, who learn the approving look in an elder's eye caused by, first mimicking, then imitation. "It'd be great if everyone knew who is boss," thinks them. (I am accepted by many American individuals and and in many homes and places all over America; In the envisioned/imagined/recalled Great America, no.) 

So I decided that I'd concentrate on being accepted by the whole world, as a human being, with a good gift. America, when Maya Angelou advised, “When someone shows you who they are - believe them; the first time.” I did ma'am.

I'll do what I can, here, but I dream the world of us.
