Why are mourning practices punitive & discriminatory to women than men?

Does Tradition & Christianity influence discrimination of widows?
* Types of discriminatory rituals imposed on women than men;
Purpose: to prove that widow didn't kill husband ?
- Women wear black clothes for up to 12 months
- Men (widowers) put a clip of a black cloth on the arm but do not wear complete black attire
- Widows wear clothes inside out during the mourning period. What happens if the widow has to go to work?
- Jumping over the fire
- crushing eggs using thighs
- kneeling on the street and not allowed to shout
- sitting at the back of a trick or bus
- In church widows are isolated from other worshippers: or not allowed to attend church
- drinking & eating from specific cup or plate
- putting our fire using urine
Eating from the lid using left hand
- Not allowed to drink water the whole day
- prohibited from leaving home
- Not allowed to reprimand children
- assumed to have HIV & AIDS
