Join us for our 4th and final instalment of the Spanish and Portuguese Society podcast for the academic year 21-22. During this episode we chat to Izzy who talks about her year abroad in Portugal. We then speak to some of the upcoming committee and we discuss some of the plans for the upcoming society. Finally, we close with some reflection from some of our current committee members and our highlights. We have thoroughly enjoyed this past year producing this podcast and we are grateful for everyone who tuned in to listen to us ramble! On behalf of the 21-22 committee I would like to wish everyone the best in the upcoming committee!
Join us for our third instalment of the Spanish and Portuguese Society podcast. During this episode our roundtable discussion focuses on Beginner's Language courses where we ask if they're "worth the hassle"? (yes!), before we're transported to Salamanca with Ross during our Phone In From Abroad. For our cultural piece, Ana interviews Silvia Martins about her charity and a fundraiser which we'll be jointly hosting in aid of an orphanage in Guinea Bissau at QUB (11th March in Elmwood Hall.) Sit back, relax and enjoy!
For our second episode of the Spanish and Portuguese Society podcast, we're joined by final year students who share their experience last year abroad in the context of the pandemic, and who offer some advice on how to settle in and discuss mental wellbeing. We also have our second “phone in from abroad” as we speak to a current year abroad student, Peter Galt in Malaga. And Jon interviews Karol Valderrama-Burgos (a lecturer from Queen's University) to hear about some gothic cinema from Colombia.
For our very first episode of the Spanish and Portuguese Society Podcast, we’re joined by final year students to talk about language mishaps as well as offering some free advice. We have our first “phone in from abroad” as we speak to a current year abroad student in Alicante. And Jon catches up with current MRes student Rochelle to hear about the project she’s currently working on.
