Sam Delgado, chairman of a film screening/fundraiser featuring the PBS award-winning documentary speaks about The Borinqueneers, which explores the remarkable stories of valor, triumph, and challenges faced by the famed 65th Infantry Regiment. Ervin Machado, Korean War veteran and member of the 65th Infantry Regiment, recounts some of his experiences.

Perth Amboy, NJ – September 1, 2024 – The Borinqueneers Park Education Alliance, in collaboration with its partners, the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Veterans Chamber of Commerce, and the New Jersey Puerto Rico Commission proudly announces a special film screening of the award-winning PBS Documentary THE BORINQUENEERS to honor Hispanic Heritage Month and launch a fundraiser to raise $5 million dollars in capital for the development of a community park and veterans monument in Perth Amboy New Jersey dedicated to the Borinqueneers 65th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army.
The Borinqueneers Film Screening and Capital Campaign Fundraiser will be held at the Barrymore Film Center and Museum in Fort Lee, NJ, on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

ABOUT THE BORINQUENEERS PARK EDUCATION ALLIANCE
The Borinqueneers Park Education Alliance, a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation, aims to honor and educate the public about the regiment’s heroic deeds during the Korean Conflict, for which they were awarded a Congressional Gold Medal. They seek to construct a 65th Infantry Regiment Veterans Memorial on a 6-acre urban recreational park in Perth Amboy, New Jersey.
