What happens when a friendly ghost meets a lonely kid who just wants a friend?

Well...apparently, you get one of the most unexpectedly funny and emotional '90s movie rewatches ever! 😂👻

This week on the Queen Diva Podcast, we're heading back to 1997 for Casper: A Spirited Beginning — and Queenie has A LOT to say!

I haven't watched this movie in years, and I forgot just how much this movie had me laughing. From Casper trying—and failing—to become a scary ghost, to the Ghostly Trio's questionable training methods, this movie gave me plenty to talk about.

But the character who really got me?

CHRIS. 😭

This poor kid was being bullied at school, barely getting any attention from his father, and desperately looking for someone he could call a friend. Then Casper comes along, and suddenly these two lonely kids find exactly what they needed in each other.

And don't even get Queenie started on Chris's father!

We are talking missed school presentations, missed parent-teacher meetings, broken promises, a pager 😂, a disastrous boys' night, and a dad who somehow always manages to put work before his son.

Thankfully, Chris had Casper.

We'll also talk about the incredible '90s cast, including Steve Guttenberg, Lori Loughlin, Rodney Dangerfield, Sherman Hemsley, James Earl Jones, and more.

At first, I thought I was getting a horror mystery. Instead, I found myself heartbroken for Bella—a young woman who spent years longing for her family, only to return home and be treated like she never belonged.

In this episode, I break down the shocking twists, Anna's manipulation, Bella finding out she is dead, and her parents truly only saw Anna.
